Cardinal Scale Mfg. Co., Webb City, Missouri, says its new Scrapper series truck scales are engineered for scrap yards, recycling centers and other facilities requiring a medium-duty NTEP (National Type Evaluation Program of the National Institute of Standards and Technology) legal-for-trade scale at an economical price. The American-made Scrapper uses a PSC (protected stay-cable) high-tensile-strength, pre-stress concrete deck weighbridge that is 10 feet wide. Scrapper lengths of up to 52.5 feet are available.
The Scrapper series comes in capacities ranging from 25 tons up to 45 tons (25-ton concentrated load capacity), with the ability to weigh midsized trucks and pickup trucks pulling trailers. Cardinal Scale offers what it calls single-source convenience and quality construction using American-made stainless steel load cells. Optional guide rails, weight indicators, remote displays, unattended kiosks and vehicle recording software also are available from Cardinal Scale.
“Recycling is one of the fastest growing and most lucrative industries, and Cardinal Scale’s Scrapper provides customers with an inexpensive truck scale marketed specifically for the salvage and recycling industry,” says Jonathan Sabo, the company’s vice president of marketing.
