Caraustar Industries, a recycled paperboard producer based in Austell, Georgia, has acquired SP Recycling Southeast LLC’s Nashville, Tennessee, recycling facility. Caraustar says the acquisition fits into its strategy of expanding its geographic footprint to serve customer sustainability goals.
The company says it plans to integrate the SP facility into its existing recycling business. Caraustar, which is owned by the private equity firm H.I.G. Capital, operates nine recycling facilities and three brokerage offices in the United States, primarily in the Southeast and Midwest.
