Caraustar Receives Honor from Lance

Atlanta-based Caraustar Industries Inc., a large North American integrated manufacturer of 100 percent recycled paperboard and converted paperboard products, has been awarded the 2007 Lance Supplier of the Year Award in the Folding Box division.

The award recognizes Caraustar for its quality conformance, service, inventory controls, sustainability practices and value-added contributions in the manufacture of paperboard cartons and trays required for packaging many of the Lance snack food products.

Lance scores its suppliers throughout the year on a scale of 0 to 100 percent in various performance categories, presenting its supplies with a final total quality score at year end. Caraustar received a 100 percent total quality score for all categories and for the four quarters of 2007. This is the third consecutive year, and eighth time throughout the past several years, in which Caraustar has received this honor.

“Caraustar is proud of its 30-plus year relationship with Lance,” Vice President of Sales for Caraustar’s Converted Products Group Mark I. Maley, says. “As one of its primary suppliers, our Grand Rapids and Randleman carton plants provide Lance’s paperboard name brand snack food packaging requirements, including packaging for its sandwich crackers and cookies, nuts and saltines.”
