Caraustar Industries, Inc. announced it is increasing its price for all clay-coated recycled paperboard by $50 per ton. The increase will go into affect July 1. The increase, the company stated, is an attempt to recover from increases in recovered fiber, energy, freight, insurance and benefits that have occurred over the past several years.
The plan to hike finished product prices continues a flurry of announcements by many of the top paperboard producers to raise their finished product prices.
When companies announced plans to increase prices all acknowledged a plan to adjust their increases to compensate for the higher recovered fiber prices that have been hitting many of the consumers over the past several months.
