Caraustar Industries has completed the purchase of Design Tubes Company Ltd., Toronto, Ont.
In November 1998, Caraustar acquired a minority interest in Design Tubes, a manufacturer of recycled paperboard tubes and producer of paper tube manufacturing equipment.
The new acquisition will become part of the Caraustar Industrial & Consumer Products Group, which manufactures tubes, cores, composite containers, and other specialty packaging products.
The Caraustar ICPG has 38 operating sites in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and England.
John Lea, who has been president of Design Tubes Company since its founding, will continue as part of the Caraustar management team.
