Caraustar Announces Price Increase

Caraustar Industries Inc., Atlanta, has announced that it will increase prices on all paperboard-based converted products by 8 percent, effective with shipments on and after Feb. 18, 2008.

“These increases are driven by higher fiber and energy costs, which remain near historic highs and are anticipate to continue to climb,” says Steven L. Kelchen, vice president of the Converted Products Group. “While Caraustar continues to streamline its processes to gain operating and other efficiencies, they alone cannot keep pace with these rising costs.”
