Recycling industry financing is focus of October event in Chicago

The Capital Markets Conference will spotlight investment and M&A opportunities in the waste and recycling sectors.

The Recycling Today Media Group is lining up speakers and panelists for its Capital Markets Conference, which will take place Oct. 17-18, 2018, at the Marriott Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile.

The two-day event, being hosted by the media group and its Waste Today publication, is billed as “a new waste and environmental services industry event focused on success strategies for those looking to invest or access capital for growth, as well as those considering a merger, acquisition or sale of their businesses.”

The Recycling Today Media Group indicates the conference is designed for operators in the waste management, specialty waste, recycling and waste cleanup industries, as well as for investment bankers, private equity firms, venture capitalists, family offices, banks and other financial market participants.

“We are excited to further our offerings in the waste management and environmental services sector,” says Jim Keefe, the Recycling Today Media Group’s publisher. “The environmental services industry continues to evolve through both technological changes and environmental management requirements. These combine to create increased capital requirements and unique investment opportunities. We felt the timing was right to bring professionals together for a face-to-face, high-value event. Our team has worked closely with leading investment bankers and industry professionals to craft a uniquely insightful event.”

Keefe says the conference is being designed to provide a blend of sessions that will deliver analysis of numerous industry sectors and insights into the capital markets available to finance growth and business development.

Industry executives currently scheduled to speak include Ronald J. Mittelstaedt, CEO of Waste Connections; Effram Kaplan, managing director and principal of the law firm Brown Gibbons Lang and Co.; and Joseph Ursuy, a senior vice president with Comerica Bank. A more complete version of the event’s schedule can be found here.

In addition to now accepting attendee registrations for the event, a limited number of sponsorship opportunities are available for industry suppliers interested in raising awareness of their company and services within this industry segment, according to Keefe.
