Capital Environmental Resource Inc., a solid waste services company, signed a definitive agreement to buy Ottawa-based Waste Services Inc. for $25.3 million.
Capital Environmental said it expects the operations to generate $9.1 million in annual revenue and $4.5 million in annual earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
The deal is scheduled to close by the end of January pending customary closing conditions.
Waste Services owns and operates landfill, collection and transfer facilities and operations in Ottawa and Brockville, Ontario.
Capital Environmental also said it acquired a Vancouver collection operation with about $500,000 in annual revenue.
