Canusa Hershman Continues Growth

East Coast-based paper stock operation adds to its operations as it eyes the Asian market.

Canusa Hershman has recently created a new company that aims to focus on the export of recovered fiber to Asia, especially China. The new operation is being called Newport CH International, and its principals are Jimmy Yang, Jim Fagelson and Clark Hahne. The company is based in Brea, Calif.

Jonathan Sloan, president of Canusa Hershman Recycling, said, “We are extremely pleased to have Jimmy, Jim and Clark on CHRC’s team. They are seasoned professional and their presence in the export market adds another exciting dimension to our organization.

Ethan Hershman, CEO of CHRC, noted that “Exports of fiber to Asia will continue to be a major factor in the North American market, and it has always been our goal to have a more active role in this region. Newport CH helps us to achieve this goal.”

Canusa Hershman managing more than 75,000 tons per month of secondary fiber, plastics and other recyclables through its trading operations, processing plants and exclusive mill purchasing commitments.
