The Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo (CWRE), a trade show serving the Canadian waste, recycling and public works markets, marked its 10th anniversary with its Nov. 28-29, 2007, trade show at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The event drew nearly 1,700 and 140 exhibitors, according to the event’s planners.
A survey conducted by Messe Frankfurt
Working with the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre, CWRE increased the show’s “green” factor, using easily recycled materials and accessible collection systems. According to the survey, this effort was recognized and appreciated.
Company exhibits focused on collection, hauling, processing and disposal of waste; materials recycling; and municipal recycling programs, including blue box programs, MRFs, scrap metals, C&D, wood, plastic, paper, auto, tires, fiber and more.

A seminar series and half-a-dozen special events, sponsored by industry affiliates and presented by industry leaders, government officials and experts covering a wide array of interests, policies, regulations, technologies and concerns, also contributed to the success of the show, according to the organizers.
