Call2Recycle, a free cell phone and battery recycling organization based in Atlanta, has announced the appointment of Andrew Sirjord as chairman of the board of directors. In assuming the position Sijord is tasked to guide the company through strategies designed to spur growth and development, according to a company news release.
Sirjord has been a board director with the organization since 2006, and was appointed chairman due to his distinct knowledge of environment and energy related products, as well as his strong background in legal affairs.
“Call2Recycle is poised to expand our battery recycling capabilities to a greater level than we have experienced before, so we welcome Andy's commitment to guide us through fresh strategies as chairman of the board,” says Carl Smith, president and CEO of Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corp., which operates Call2Recycle. “Andy understands our long-term goals and gives us a well-rounded perspective of the market and the industry. I'm looking forward to a successful and productive future under his leadership.”
