The California Department of Conservation, Sacramento, has issued a Green Holiday Guide that features products manufactured from post-consumer recyclables. The 24-page guide features products ranging from patio furniture to vests and jackets. The Web sites and phone numbers of several dozen manufacturers are printed along with photographs of much of the merchandise.
The guide’s authors note that the catalog features “only a small sampling” of available products made from recycled content, but the Department of Conservation hopes the guide will also serve as a reminder to consumers to look for the recycling label when shopping.
The guide will be circulated both within the state of California and beyond its borders, according to Sequoia Clare of the Department of Conservation.
Those interested in the guide can contact the department at 1-800-732-9253 or can download the information from the department’s Web site at www.bottlesandcans.com.Latest from Recycling Today
