An increasing number of cities in California’s Contra Costa County have announced plans to create construction and demolition recycling ordinances to help bolster lagging recycling rates, according to a report in the Contra Costa Times (Walnut Creek, Calif.).
Antioch, Calif., has enacted a C&D recycling ordinance, and other Contra Costa County cities, including Moraga, Concord and Martinez, are expected to approve or propose similar mandates within the next few months, according to the report.
Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Orinda and Brentwood have also approved C&D recycling ordinances.
