Waste Solutions, based in the Los Angeles area in Murrieta, Calif., has been offering to audit and then “clean” the trash bins of Southern California property owners.
The company was founded by Corey Testi, who says he found himself working with commercial properties that were slowing their construction activities because of low tenant occupancies. He also noticed that the rolloff containers on these properties were still overflowing with trash and recyclables.
The observation gave him the idea to offer a service to clean out such containers and separate recyclables, thereby decreasing the customer’s number of waste collection visits and saving them money.
Waste Solutions now serves shopping facilities, apartment complexes and school districts throughout Southern California, according to a news release from the company. “Clients can expect to save at least 20 percent off of their waste collection fees every month,” says the release.
After analyzing a company’s costs and needs, Waste Solutions “will create a schedule for when [its] team will physically remove recyclables from trash containers and place them in the correct bin. Containers will then be compacted to decrease the amount of visits of waste collectors.”
The company quotes current client June Wilson with Pacific Coast Management Group Inc. as saying, “By partnering with Waste Solutions, we have saved thousands of dollars on our monthly waste collection fees, decreased our negative impact on the environment and offered tenants and guests at our properties a clean and safe environment.”
Currently, Waste Solutions says it has the ability to visit more than 1,000 dumpsters per week. Eventually, the company says it hopes to hire a truck team for each of the major cities in Southern California and beyond. “We don’t make money until our clients make money,” says Testi. “This is a win-win-win situation for our clients, the environment and our company.”
