Ferrostaal AG is expanding its activities in the field of recycling and environmental technology with the installation of a cable recycling plant in the Middle East. Ferrostaal, a global provider of industrial services for plant construction and engineering, has a presence in more than 60 countries.
The project announced is the sale and financing of a cable recycling plant to Gulf Star Metals in Ajman. It will be the first machine from this sector installed in the United Arab Emirates.
The plant, from the Danish firm Eldan, will be able to process around 2.5 tons of cables per hour and enable the separated materials to be recycled. Once it has been manufactured and then transported to the Gulf state, the plant will be assembled in Ajman and will be commissioned midway through the year.
“For customers, it is a great advantage that in Ferrostaal they have a local partner who can help them to find and finance projects and can also offer advice and practical assistance for commissioning and subsequent maintenance,” says Joachim Ludwig, a member of Ferrostaal’s executive board.
In the field of environmental technology and recycling, Ferrostaal offers plants and system lines for recycling cable waste, as well as scrap tires, aluminum and magnesium scrap from refrigerators and waste electrical and electronic equipment.
