The Borough Council of Red Bank, N.J., has denied a request by Red Bank Recycling to change the zone in which it is located from light industrial to industrial to allow for the facility’s proposed expansion, according to a report in the Hub (Red Bank, N.J.).
This latest move follows other efforts by the council to halt the project. Earlier this month, the council approved a resolution opposing Red Bank Recycling’s plan to build the C&D debris transfer station on its property, according to the report.
The proposed transfer station would bring in about 600 tons of C&D debris per day by truck. The material would then be transported to an Ohio site by rail.
The council has also approved an ordinance banning trucks that weigh more than four tons from traveling on a street near the facility, according to the report.
