C&D Landfill Gets Green Light in South Carolina

Proposed facility could eventually handle as much as 60,000 tons of debris.

The York County (South Carolina) Zoning Board of Appeals has approved a proposal by Greeneagle Inc. to build a construction debris landfill in the county, according to a report in the Herald (Rock Hill, S.C.).

The facility could eventually handle up to 60,000 tons of debris.

The plan for the landfill must still be approved by state environmental officials. It must also come back in front of the county zoning board because of a request to include a wood recycling facility at the site, according to the report.
