The battle over a New Hampshire wood-burning power plant’s request to burn wood from construction and demolition debris continues, according to a report in the Concord Monitor (Concord, N.H.).
The state Department of Environmental Services (DES) and two citizens’ groups have filed cross-appeals to the Supreme Court supporting the revocation of a solid waste permit for Regenesis, formerly known as Bio Energy, in Hopkinton, N.H.
The company has asked the court to reconsider the revocation Sept. 15. The DES, Citizens for a Future New Hampshire and Resident’s Environmental Action Committee for Health all filed appeals Sept. 25.
The permit was originally revoked in 2005 after the DES alleged the company submitted false information, according to the report.
