Bunting Magnetics Launches New DragSlide Conveyor

The DragSlide is designed to convey shredded plastic films and fluffy fiber materials.

Bunting Magnetics Co., Newton, Kan., has launched an addition to its material handling product line. The new DragSlide conveyor is designed to convey difficult, thin mill shredded plastic films and light fluffy fiber materials created during different types of manufacturing applications. The company says the DragSlide conveyor is an excellent way to positively convey this type of material, which typically clings to belts and gets carried around and rains on the floor below a belted conveyor.

“Whether you are conveying 500 pounds per hour or 12,000 pounds per hour, our DragSlide conveyors can handle these difficult materials,” says Don Suderman, Bunting product manager for material handling. “It will keep the floor around your equipment clean of shredded plastic. Also, the conveyors are totally enclosed except for the infeed hopper and the discharge chutes, both of which can be sealed to the adjacent equipment.”

The Bunting DragSlide conveyors feature dual chain driven UHMW flights, which drags the shredded material inside the enclosed conveyor frame. The heavy-duty DragSlide conveyors are designed in the same shapes and configurations as the company’s standard grinder feeder conveyors. The “hockey stick” DragSlide conveyors are designed to fit under the shredder or grinder discharge and convey the material up and out. Straight horizontal or inclined DragSlides are designed as a positive conveying means to any location around or across a plant, according to the company.

Optional Rare Earth Plate Magnets can be installed in the DragSlide conveyor’s discharge chute to help further purify material from ferrous scrap metal.
