Bunting Magnetics Co., Newton, Kansas, has announced that 12 students have been selected to receive 2016-2017 scholarships in memory of the company’s founders, Walter F. & June A. Bunting.
The Walter F. & June A. Bunting Memorial Scholarships are awarded to college-age children of the company’s employees who are seeking a higher education either through college or vocational training. The 12 recipients, each receiving $500 toward tuition and related expenses, bring the total amount donated to $83,000 since the fund’s inception in 2000.
“Higher education was very important to my parents, for whom these scholarships are named,” says Bob Bunting, president and CEO. “Like every year, the group of students selected this year have wonderful commitment and drive and are sure to be great leaders in our communities and businesses. Through this fund, Bunting Magnetics is excited to support their pursuit of education and exploration of career paths.”
