Northshore Manufacturing, Two Harbors, Minn., the manufacturer of the Builtrite line of products, has made a number of enhancements to its Stationary Electric Material Handlers, the Model 2100-SE.
The enhancements include:
• A new cab that features better visibility, more room and a more powerful heater and air conditioning system.
• A modular power unit, capable of being machine mounted or floor mounted, depending upon the application and customer’s preference. Large access doors allow for excellent accessibility.
• A more energy efficient, 75 hp electric motor.
According to Northshore, the 2100-SE is versatile in a number of material handling applications such as handling municipal solid waste, both loading and tamping applications, scrap handling and wood handling. A range of options are available, including various boom configurations, allowing it to handle hanging or wristing type attachments, boom lengths, cab risers, catwalks, remote operator’s station, remote power unit placement, etc.
The company adds that the cost of operation (electric power versus diesel, maintenance and downtime), as compared to a diesel powered machine, can be as much as 60 percent less, with the added benefit of operating quieter and without exhaust gases.
