The Buhck Group (Buhck Gruppe), an environmental services firm based in Wentdorf, Germany, has acquired Nieder Containerdienst of Boizenburg, Germany.
Buhck Group has 15 locations in northern Germany, including five sorting plants that process around 300,000 metric tons of construction and commercial materials per year; three composting plants that handle 80,000 metric tons of green and bio-waste per year; and around 150 trucks. The group consists of 29 companies focusing on various areas of the environmental sector.
The decision to sell the business was prompted by Frank and Elke Nieder, the founders of Nieder Containerdienst, who decided to retire and were looking for a successor to continue the company’s service.
“The Nieders approached us last year and told us about their personal plans for the future,” says Jens Göhner, managing director of Nieder Containerdienst. “At the time, they emphasized the importance of a smooth transition for their customers. Together, we found a solution to retain customers and additionally integrate the two trucks, 80 containers and three employees.”
