Bruce Neil, The Doe Run Company president and CEO, St. Louis, has been elected as a board member to the Battery Council International (BCI), Chicago. Neil has voting privileges and will collaborate with other members to advocate for lead-acid battery use around the world.
John Craig, president of BCI and chairman says, “BCI believes it is important that our board is comprised of industry leaders. As CEO of one of the largest secondary smelters in the world, Bruce certainly meets that criterion. Bruce was selected because he has a reputation of being a fair, insightful and thoughtful team player.”
BCI also elected Hitoshi Ohta, Yuasa Battery Inc. president and CEO, according to a press release.
BCI supports battery manufacturers and recyclers, marketers, retailers, distributors, suppliers and consultants by promoting battery recycling, tracking overall sales, lobbying on behalf of lead-acid battery companies and communicating with members about the latest technological and regulatory developments.
