The German company BRT Recycling Technologies Gmbh has introduced the BAL-O-MAT Bale Breaker. The machine, available worldwide, prepares highly compressed bales for processing, according to the company. Using the BAL-O-MAT also results in energy savings, the company adds.
The bales are opened gently and the material is loosened up layer by layer, producing a loose and constant material stream without entanglings or material lumps.
BAL-O-MAT requires little maintenance and less than 15 kilowatts to operate, says BRT. In addition, the throughput rate and speed can be adjusted flexibly to the current production needs.
Optimal material preparation saves costs and increases throughput and sorting quality. BAL-O-MAT opens bales containing a variety of materials, including paper, mixed plastics and straw.
The company points out that a shredder does not only open the bales, but also shreds the material at the same time. This can make sorting the different materials complicated. In addition, purchasing and operating a shredder are major investments.
