Brookfield Resource Management, an Elmsford, N.Y.-based recycling company, has announced plans to grow its Bronx, N.Y., operations by expanding into an 8,000-square-foot building adjacent to the company’s current facility.
According to Brookfield, the expansion will double the size of its Bronx operation. The warehouse will be used for indoor processing and inventory storage. The company says the new space will allow it to better utilize its existing facility.
“This expansion in operations in the Bronx allows us to better serve our New York metro market,” says Tom Malone, president of Brookfield Resource Management. “It is part of our overall strategy to continue regionalizing our recycling operations and handle recyclable materials from a wider geographical area.”
From its start in the Bronx, the company has added operations in India earlier this year, a Chicago operation in 2010 and a facility in Montrose, N.Y. in 2009.
