Members of the British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA) have raised more than £3,700 (US$5,800) for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital scanner appeal. The money was raised during an industry fundraising event to purchase a scanner that would be used to provide medical help to children.
“This year’s charity choice is close to my heart,” says Mick Wright, president of BMRA and chairman of ELG Haniel Metals Ltd., based in Sheffield, U.K. “I was very pleased that BMRA members backed the Kids Scanner Appeal with such enthusiasm and hope our donation of £3,700 will speed the purchase of this important piece of equipment. The quality of life of many children in South Yorkshire depends upon their access to the latest in scanner technology.”
