Baled tires make high impacts

Rather than discarding end-of-life tires at dumpsites, tire balers play an important role in transportation, storage and reuse.

Hydraulic powered tire balers are highly impactful in the processes of reclaiming rubber in the effort to recycle the approximately 1 billion tires that reach the end of their lifespan each year across the globe, according to tireindustryproject.org. These tires can become a valuable resource with careful research, planning and management to reclaim the natural rubber, polymers, steel and textiles that go into the makeup of a modern tire.

Rather than discarding end-of-life tires at dumpsites, tire balers play an important role in transportation, storage and reuse.

Heavy-duty hydraulic rams compress loose tires into dense, uniform bales. When stacked correctly and depending on tire sizes, the Eagle International line of balers can compress approximately 100 scrap tires into two different sized bales, depending on the need. This uniformity makes it easier for the tires to be transported, stored or used in building or civil engineering projects. The volume reduction limits the risk for fire, accounts for easier loading and unloading and lowers transportation costs per ton. This increases a bale’s marketability and practicality for inspection, pricing and freight across regional and global markets.

The Eagle International line of balers is proudly made in the United States and includes the 3260 and 4566 models. Both options feature a dual hydraulic cylinder press. The Eagle 3260 tire baler is designed to compress whole passenger pickup/SUVs and cut truck tires into a 32-inch by 45-inch by 60-inch bale. The larger Eagle 4566 can easily bale whole passenger or truck tires into a 45-inch x 54-inch x 66-inch bale.

“As has become expected from Eagle International, our balers have been performing since the 1990s with little to no downtime,” says Anthony Yarger, salesman for Eagle International. “We build our products with U.S.-made steel, and our simple hydraulic system means you don’t have lengthy downtime waiting on parts and electronics. The portable options are a great addition to any tire clean-up company that wants to go mobile and cut down on logistic fees.”
