The General Assembly of the Brussels-based European Recovered Paper Association (ERPA) has unanimously re-elected Thomas Braun as a vice president.
The 55-year-old Braun also serves as the managing director of Germany’s Federal Association for Secondary Raw Materials and Waste Management (BVSE), which is based in Bonn, Germany. As a member of the EPRA board, Braun has represented the interests of the German Recovered Paper industry with ERPA since 2004. Braun also is a general delegate of the Paper Division of the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), based in Brussels.
Hans van de Nes of the Netherlands-based FNOI recycling association has been elected as the new president of ERPA. The previous President Merja Helander stood down as a candidate upon her retirement from a Finnish recycling company.
The second vice president position has been filled by Pascal Gennevieve of the French recycling association FEDEREC.
As one of ERPA’s vice presidents, Thomas Braun also fills a seat on the board of EuRIC (the European Recycling Industries’ Confederation), a Brussels-based umbrella organization to which ERPA belongs.
