Box USA Inc., Northbrook, Ill., has acquired Groveton Paper Board Inc. from Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. (SSCC), Chicago.
Groveton Paper Board, Groveton, N.H., operates a corrugated medium mill that produces about 150,000 tons of corrugated medium per year. As part of the transaction, Box USA will assume Jefferson Smurfit’s obligation to purchase approximately 94,000 tons of medium annually from the Groveton facility. Jefferson Smurfit Corp. has also agreed to purchase additional quantities of linerboard from SSCC over the next four years under an existing purchasing agreement.
Before the sale to Box USA, SSCC owned 63 percent of Groveton Paper Board through its Jefferson Smurfit Corp. (U.S.) subsidiary.Latest from Recycling Today
