Bollegraaf Recycling Machinery, based in The Netherlands, has introduced the second generation of its Paper Spike product, a machine designed to separate deinking paper from the recovered paper stream.
The first generation of the Paper Spike was introduced in 2002. The second generation of the unit, developed with Spike Grumbach, includes a large drum onto which the spikes are mounted. The spikes are designed to collect cardboard and paper.
The Paper Spike 2 is designed so that the machine can replace the previous version in existing installations.
The company has applied for two patents for the new machine.
Van Dyk Baler Corp., based in Stamford, Conn., distributes Bollegraaf equipment in North America.
