The Dutch equipment company Bollegraaf Recycling Solutions has been awarded the contract by the Russian solid waste management company MAG Group to build a mega municipal solid waste (MSW) recycling facility to process the equivalent of 60 tonnes of solid waste per hour.
Bollegraaf says it is delighted to have been chosen to design, manufacture and install of one of the most advanced MSW recycling facilities in Russia. The plant will be built at MAG Group's location in Nizhny Novgorod.
After researching various operations through Europe and the United States, MAG Group chose a turnkey solution designed and produced by Bollegraaf. Construction on the project is expected to begin by May 2017, with the plant being commissioned by April 2018.
When operational, the facility will have a capacity of 400,000 tonnes of MSW per year. It will be designed to process various types of recovered fiber and corrugated, plastic film, colored and clear high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, clear and colored polyethylene terepthalate (PET), mixed plastics, aluminium and ferrous metals.
Bollegraaf’s system will include two bag openers; two AWS screens; eight optical sorters; one elliptical separator, which will be used to separate 3D material from 2D material and fines ; an OCC (old corrugated containers) screen; an HBC-100 baler; and a magnet.
The installation also will include Bollegraaf’s patented anti-wrapping star screen. The screen deck does not wrap, but does have high output and aggressive agitation, which prevents smaller parts from sticking to larger parts, the company says. This results in a better performance in the following sorting process.
“We recommend Bollegraaf as a high-level professional in the market of turnkey sorting systems, waste sorting and recycling equipment and a customer-oriented partner that completely meets the expectations of business communication and business cooperation,” says Evgeny Razzhivin, director-general of MAG Group Management.
MAG Group, established in 2009, is one of the largest export companies in the Russian Federation. The company operates in five regions of the county. In 2012, the MAG Group obtained a license for household solid waste collection and removal in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
