Boliden AB and China Minmetals Corp. have entered into a framework agreement for the sale of copper by Boliden to Minmetals.
"This is an important step towards building relations and establishing a direct channel to the Chinese market," says Lennart Evrell, president and CEO of Boliden.
The two companies have agreed conditions for the supply of approximately 36,000 metric tons of copper over a three-year period. The value of the copper presently is at around $300 million.
Boliden is a European metals company involved in exploration, mining, smelting and recycling. The company’s main metals are zinc and copper. China Minmetals is a China-based firm involved in the production and sales of a range of metals.
