The Gulf Coast Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) presented several awards at its recent conference and trade show in mid-June.
The Israel Proler Award, the chapter’s Lifetime Achievement Award, went to Jim Bly of scrap metals and tire recycling firm J&M Enterprises, Artesia, N.M. The award was presented to Bly by Sam and Marilyn Hummelstein of Hummelstein Iron & Metal Inc., Jonesboro, Ark., last year’s recipients of the Proler Award.
Additional individual awards were also presented to several Gulf Coast members, including:
-Most Outstanding Contribution for the 2003 Conference and Trade Show: Amy Jeter, Morris Recycling Inc., New Albany, Miss.
-Outstanding Committee Chairman of the Year 2002-2003: Scott Woods, A. Tenenbaum Co. Inc., North Little Rock, Ark.
-Outstanding Recruiter of the Year 2002-2003: Emanuel Bodner, Bodner Metal & Iron Corp., Houston.
-Outstanding Member of the Year of the Year 2002-2003: Emanuel Bodner, Bodner Metal & Iron Corp., Houston.
-Outstanding Board Member of the Year 2002-2003: Greg Westfall, Morris Recycling Inc., New Albany, Miss.
-Outstanding Officer of the Year 2002-2003: Ben Morris, Morris Recycling Inc., New Albany, Miss.
-Outstanding Associate Member of the Year 2002-2003: Jeanne Knapp, Sierra International Machinery Inc., Fort Worth, Texas
-Outstanding Past President’s Award: Mike Ronnel, Metal Recycling Corp., Little Rock, Ark.
And ten “Outstanding Chapter Volunteers” for the year 2002-2003 were presented to:
