Blaze Recycling to Add Marietta, Ga., Yard

New facility to open this summer.

Blaze Recycling & Metals LLC, based in Norcross, Ga., has acquired a site in Marietta, Ga., that it intends to open as an additional scrap metal buying facility. The company expects to open the property as well as its other recently acquired site in Montgomery, Ala., at roughly the same time its new automobile shredder in Phenix City, Ala., becomes operational this summer.

“We are excited to be able to enter the commercial market of Marietta and the surrounding area of northwest Georgia,” Gary Blase, co-pPresident and co-CEO of Blaze Recycling, says. “This facility will provide local scrap dealers with the opportunity to sell directly to a metal shredding company.”

The full-service facility will purchase ferrous and nonferrous scrap, Gary adds.

“The Marietta facility marks another step in our rapidly expanding footprint in the southeast,” Craig Blase, co-president and co-CEO of Blaze says. “By the time our Phenix City, Ala., shredder becomes operational this summer, we will have seven full-service facilities. Including Ocala Recycling, which was recently acquired through our parent, Blaze Metals LLC, the combined companies will have nine full-service facilities and three automobile shredders.”

Blaze is a full-service metal recycler operating in the Southeastern United States. The company currently operates five scrap yards in the Georgia cities of Norcross, Griffin, Gainesville and Lawrenceville, as well as a yard in Phenix City that purchase ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal.

Blaze owns and operates a high-capacity shredder at its Lawrenceville location, which is configured to process approximately 30,000 tons per month. The Phenix City shredder will more than double the company’s shredding capacity.

Blaze is a wholly owned subsidiary of Blaze Metals LLC, which also owns Ocala Recycling LLC, Ocala, Fla.
