Blaze Recycling & Metals LLC, based in Norcross, Ga., has acquired a site in Albany, Ga., that the company intends to open as a scrap metal buying facility.
Blaze says it expects the Albany location as well as the company’s recently acquired site in Montgomery, Ala., to open during the third quarter of 2008. The yards will support the company’s new automobile shredder in Phenix City, Ala., which is also expected to begin operating in the third quarter.
“We are excited to be able to establish a facility in Albany,” Gary Blase , co-president and co-CEO says. “We have been sourcing a significant amount of scrap in that market for about a year. This facility will allow us to further exploit the Albany market.”
Craig Blase, co-president and co-CEO, says, “Within weeks of our Phenix City, Ala., shredder becoming operational later this summer, we will have eight full-service facilities. We believe our new facilities will allow us to quickly ramp-up the throughput at our new shredder.”
Blaze Recycling & Metals is a wholly owned subsidiary of Blaze Metals LLC. The company also owns Ocala Recycling, which operates two yards in the Ocala, Fla., market.
