The data sanitization software provider Blancco, with global headquarters in Finland and Canadian headquarters in Abbotsford, British Columbia, has launched its Partner Program, which is designed to support companies providing IT asset disposal services (ITAD), in Canada. Through the program, Blancco says ITAD firms have an avenue to safely handle data erasure and computer reuse issues.
Joining Blancco as the first member of the program in Canada is Global Electric Electronic Processing (GEEP), headquartered in Barrie, Ontario. The company provides recycling services for obsolete electronics at 10 locations throughout North America and Costa Rica.
Blancco says its ITAD Partner Program has been designed to streamline erasure processes required for the safe reuse, disposal and destruction of IT equipment. It addresses complex regulations for ITAD specialists and their enterprise customers with solutions that provide auditable erasure reports, the company adds.
“Our partners and their customers recognize the growing compliance and legislative requirements around data protection, both globally and in Canada,” says Christopher Eeg, Blancco Canada’s managing director. “The Partner Program supports the commitment our partners have to professionally protect customer data with world-class solutions that ensure legislative compliance.”
“Providing customers with the best security solution available is essential to our business,” says Wallace MacKay, GEEP vice president of corporate development. "Partnering with Blancco, we can verify complete data erasure of all IT assets we manage and provide erasure reports necessary for regulatory compliance. The Blancco standard is a brand trusted by us and our clients.”
GEEP, privately held by the Giampaolo Group of Cos., processes 130 million pounds of electronic scrap annually.
