BIR Will Offer Paper Roundup

Fall Round Table will feature market reports.

Dominique Maguin, the president of the Paper Division of the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), will present a consolidated report markets at the organization’s Autumn Round Table. The Paper Round Table, part of what was formerly known as BIR’s Fall Convention, will take place Mon., Oct. 28 in the BIR’s headquarters city of Brussels.

Maguin’s report will be based on contributions from Paper Division board members covering their respective regions, followed by a round-table discussion with participation from the audience.

The information presented will focus on the current situation of the world markets and an in-depth analysis of current trends and prospects for the future.

The session will then be followed by a special event organized by several European paper industry federations, including CEPI (paper manufacturers), ERPA (recovered paper) and FEFCO (corrugated paper and board manufacturers), all members of the European Recovered Paper Council. The "Spotlight on Paper Collection and Recycling: Challenges and Opportunities of the Future" is a two-hour event focusing on the expected growth in recovered paper demand based on new investments in the paper and board industry. It will particularly address the challenges arising with increased collection and recycling in terms of quality and cost.

The event, which will be moderated by Maguin, features participants from the European Commission, the paper and board producing industries and the recovered paper industry.
