The Bureau of International Recycling will be participating, on behalf of its members, at the Bright Green Exhibition in Copenhagen Dec. 12-13 to promote the role that recycling plants in carbon dioxide emission savings. The exhibit is running in parallel to the United Nation’s Conference on Climate Change, Dec. 7-18.
The exhibition aims to give organizations, municipalities, companies etc the opportunity to showcase their very specific approaches and solutions for resolving the problem of climate change.
BIR notes that a recent study shows that through recycling, global CO2 emissions are reduced by 500 million metric tons, which is more than all the CO2 emitted by aviation worldwide.
In parallel to BIR’s initiative at the Bright Green exhibition, BIR Director General Francis Veys will be part of the official delegation of the International Chamber of Commerce and will attend the ICC business day at the Climate Change Conference.
The BIR contingent will be supported by the Danish recycling federation GI.
