The Brussels-based Bureau of International Recycling’s (BIR) Textiles Division board appointed Martin Böschen as its new divisional president.
Böschen is CEO of Texaid, a Switzerland-based partnership focused on the collection, sorting and recycling of used textiles. He has served as CEO since 2004 and helped develop Texaid, a BIR member, from a local company to “one of the leading organizations in the industry,” according to a news release.
As Textiles Division president, Böschen will serve as vice president of the BIR executive committee. BIR President Ranjit Baxi states he’s looking forward to working with Böschen, “whose knowledge of the business and the global challenges facing our industry will be a great asset to BIR and its leadership.”
The divisional board agreed on Böschen’s appointment at their meeting March 26 in Brussels. He will be endorsed by delegates at the division’s plenary meeting in 2019 in Singapore.
