The Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), Brussels, is now hosting Spanish and Chinese translations of its static website pages at www.BIR.org. The translations went live on Sept. 11, 2013.
According to a BIR press release, the new sites were added to serve its expanding membership as well as in preparation of the 2014 World Recycling Convention & Exhibition in Miami. Large portions of the website have been translated into Spanish and Mandarin to reach out to Latin American and Chinese companies and associations.
BIR says China and Latin America represent significant business opportunities and the association hopes to offer industry professionals in these regions the ability to familiarize themselves with BIR and the advantages of being part of a strong international business network.
All static web pages—including “About BIR,” “The Industry” and “Membership” pages—can be accessed via the respective language icon in the top right corner of the page. All dynamic pages, such as News/Press, Events and Publications, will remain in English in order to best maintain the up-to-date nature of their contents, the association says.
