BIR Releases Quarterly Nonferrous Report

The international recycling association released its BIR World Mirror, which focuses on market trends for nonferrous markets throughout the world.

According to the BIR World Mirror, markets for most grades of nonferrous continue to show good strength through January.

Marc Natan, president of BIR’s Non-Ferrous Division, noted that the main driver for the strengthening nonferrous market is the overall improvement in the world economy. “We hear about more than 10 percent in China, 8 percent in India, 5 percent in the U.S., and a modest 2 percent in Europe.”
