The wait-and-see attitude prevailing on the international markets in light of the war in Iraq has not reflected on the attendance at BIR’s next World Recycling Convention in Oslo, Norway, from 25 to 28 May 2003.
Registrations for both the BIR Convention and the International Aluminium Symposium, come in swiftly and promise a busy and interesting event.
The Convention program offers presentations and discussions on a wide range of topical issues, including Recycling in China; marine insurance and shipping, and the European Directive on Waste from Electric and Electronic equipment.
Plenary session speakers are confirmed now for nearly all Commodity Divisions and Committees: the Stainless Steel & Special Alloys Committee has confirmed the participation of Avesta Polarit Stainless OY, Finland; the Paper Division meeting will feature speakers from Norsk Gjenvinning, Norway, and Anthon B. Nilsen, France; the Ferrous Division has invited a representative from Fundia AB, Norway; the Non Ferrous Metals Division will organize a panel discussion on copper with the participation of Hüttenwerke Kayser, Germany.
