The Paper Division of the Brussels-based Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) has announced the guest speakers who will address its delegates at the 2016 BIR World Recycling Convention in Berlin 31 May 2016.
Among the speakers is John Paul Mackens, business development manager for the European market for secondary raw materials at freight and logistics firm Küehne + Nagel. Mackens will provide insight into the international maritime safety treaty (SOLAS) and its impact on export shipments. The title of his presentation is “SOLAS – No Verified Weight, no Export Shipment.”
Also speaking will be William P. Moore, president of the United States-based consulting firm Moore & Associates. The title of Moore’s presentation is “The State of North American Paper Recycling and its Impact on the Global Market.”
Their fellow presenter Stefan Geibel is the managing director of Veolia Umweltservice Wertstoffmanagement GmbH in Hamburg, Germany, part of the Paris-based Veolia Group. Geibel has titled his presentation “The Evolution of the German Recovered Paper Market Over the Last Years—From net Exporter to net Importer.”
The Paper Division plenary session also will feature expert market reports from the major world regions, says Paper Division President Reinhold Schmidt of Germany’s Recycling Karla Schmidt.
