BIR Nonferrous Meeting to Have Top Execs

BIR nonferrous markets will take a close look at news, markets for various metals.

This autumn’s Nonferrous Division meeting Oct. 29th will provide attendees with insight into different aspects of the complex nonferrous market.

A summary of the situation on the different world markets will be given by the Salam Sharif, division vice president, as well as a representative from Sharif Metals Ltd., UAE, which will be complemented by a report on the Chinese market and in particular on recent Chinese regulations, to be presented by David Lo, David Lo Company, Hong Kong.

Giuseppe Lacchini, president of Cell-Data Information Services, will deliver analyses and forecasts regarding prices and stocks of the major nonferrous metals. His company offers an online-service providing nonferrous metal quotes.

The core round-table discussion will then open the dialogue between secondary metals merchants and consumers.

For copper and alloys, Robert Stein from Louis Padnos Iron & Metal Co, and André Vandenbosch from UMICORE, Belgium, will take the floor. They will be followed by Marc Natan, division president, and Thomas Tumoscheit, VAW-IMCO, Germany, on aluminum.

Zinc will be covered by Ashwini Singhal, Singhal Commodities, India, and Sylvain Ostier, NORZINCO-METALEUROP, France.

Johan Van Peperzeel, W.A. Van Peperzeel B.V., Netherlands, will give his view on the lead market.

Further items on the agenda are a report from the Media & Metal Separation Thibault Maillard, committee chairman, as well as an activity report on Eurometrec, BIR’s European daughter federation, by its President Fernando Duranti.
