The Bureau of International Recycling has announced speakers for its nonferrous session at the association’s fall meeting.

For the Bureau of International Recycling’s fall meeting, the association’s Non-Ferrous Metals division will have as guest speakers two metals experts: Michael Widmer, a metals analyst for Banc of America Securities; and Günther Kirchner, secretary general of the Organization of European Aluminium Refiners and Remelters.

The session will be held Oct. 26.

Widmer’s presentation will look at how fiscal and monetary stimulus programs have helped metals markets.

Kirchner, the second speaker, will be giving an overview on European aluminum markets. OEA is the international association of companies that deal with the recovery and recycling of aluminum. Members include producers of casting alloys and wrought alloys if they predominantly use secondary raw materials for production.

The title of his speech will be "Aluminium Recycling in Europe – present and future challenges".
