The Ferrous Division of the Brussels-based Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) has announced the death of one of its board members, Andrey Moiseenko of Ukrmet Ltd. of Ukraine.
Current BIR Ferrous Division President Bill Schmiedel, who is based in the United States with Sims Metal Management, comments, “It is with deep sadness that I report the recent passing of my colleague on the BIR Ferrous Board Andrey Moiseenko. Andrey was a member of the Ferrous Board since 2010 and contributed his excellent knowledge of the ferrous market situation in Russia and Ukraine.”
Schmiedel adds, “Andrey and his company, Ukrmet Ltd., worked diligently with the Ukrainian Metal Scrap Association to help draft regulations in the steel recycling sector, which was one of the many contributions throughout his career. I feel I can speak for all that we wish to express our sincere condolences to his family during this terrible time. He will be missed by all.”
