Recyclers from throughout the world converged in Brussels Oct. 25-26 for the Bureau of International Recycling’s (BIR) World Recycling Conference Autumn Round Table. More than 1,100 attendees were on hand for the two-day event, which BIR dubbed one of its “most successful autumn events.”
Round table and trading sessions for each BIR division—stainless steel and special alloys, nonferrous metals, ferrous metals, paper, plastics and tires—were held throughout the two-day event. Attendees heard first-hand how commodity markets were faring in different locations around the globe by members of each divisional board in those regions. Guest speakers gave presentations on topics of specific interest to each division during each round-table session.
A welcome evening for attendees and guests was held at the Autoworld Museum in Brussels Oct. 25. The organization’s next event, the 2011 World Recycling Convention & Exhibition, will be held in Singapore, May 23-24. More information is available at www.bir.org.
