The Bureau of International Recycling will be holding a workshop during its Spring meeting in Athens, Greece, which will look at various types of software geared to the commodity industry. The workshop will be held May 21. The BIR is receiving technical assistance with the workshop from SOCO Software Solutions AG, a Swiss-based firm. Hans Ansems, CEO of SOCO will lead the workshop and discuss the following topics:
• Increased cost of raw materials
• Increased financial risk
• Need for experienced and expensive human capital
• Need for reliable, timely and transparent information
• Growth potential of consolidated operations
• Obstacles for cross-border operations
• The effects of a fully integrated industry specific IT solution
The software that will be introduced is the standard business management software for international commodity trading and processing enterprises. It is an Internet-enabled ERP solution and can also be deployed as part of a client-server architecture.
By deploying various integrated software tools, the solution can easily be adjusted to meet the specific needs of the relevant organization. It is also designed for all country-specific requirements and is available in a variety of languages.
