The upcoming Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) World Recycling Convention set for Oct. 25-27, 2015, in Prague, will include a Ferrous Division keynote presentation by Becky E. Hites of Steel-Insights LLC, based in the U.S.
Hites’ presentation, titled "Global Economic Contraction: Navigating the Crushing Waves of Change,” will be followed by a panel discussion and interactive Q&A with the audience, BIR reports.
Hites, a global steel industry professional, has served as an equity analyst, project finance and mergers and acquisitions investment banker, cost modelling expert, industry trend consultant, expert witness and strategic planning consultant. In 2012 she founded Steel-Insights to serve clients in the metals, mining and manufacturing industries.
The BIR reports that the Ferrous Division session also will include a global report by Division President William Schmiedel of Sims Metal Management Global Trade Corp.. Schmiedel’s presentation will cover the challenges facing the international steel scrap markets with a tentative outlook on the coming year.
Attending delegates also will hear summary reports on steel markets in the major world regions and will receive a statistical update on international material flows by BIR’s Statistics Advisor Rolf Willeke.
