The Bureau of International Recycling announced that it’s ferrous roundtable session, held during the fall BIR meeting, will focus on linking steel and scrap trends. The BIR is an international association of companies involved in the scrap recycling industry. The organization is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
Entitled ‘Global Ferrous Scrap Trade and Future Prospects’, the presentation scheduled for the BIR Ferrous Round-Table in London on Oct. 29th will be built around the most current information available to the London-based Iron and Steel Statistics Bureau.
Steve Mackrell, ISSB’s director of operations, will provide facts and figures designed to bring delegates up to speed with latest trends in world steel production and the impact of this on ferrous scrap supply. His statistical analysis will focus on current and future steelmaking activities around the world, paying particular attention to the top EAF producing countries. Future steel demand and prices will be assessed.
Ferrous scrap supply and consumption, the development of international trade in scrap and recent price movements will also be examined by the guest speaker.
Mackrell has been involved in the steel industry for 30 years.
The Iron and Steel Statistics Bureau offers a wide range of publications and reports covering UK, European and global trade in steel and raw materials. The company maintains a comprehensive database of international trade in steel and steelmaking products.
